The clips have adequate grip and are quite functional and as somebody else mentioned there’s no screw to hold the wire so you’ll either have to tap the hole or just solder the wire on which I planned on doing anyway. The rubber insulation for the clip fits loosely and slides around when you try to open the clip.

great clips, but when you plan on using ring lugs to attach you need the screws, and 4 out of 8 are missing.

Using these on the end of a power cord to temporarily test light fixtures and ceiling fans. Unlikely they will be able to short out as they are insulated well. mine didnt have screws but soldering the wire to them worked great. I do wish they came in white & green. I roughed up the flat parts of metal so the insulation wouldnt slide around when squeezing to open the clips.

Although I gave them a 4 rating, the chrome finish peels off immediately and will allow corrosion to come into play shortly.

good quality clamps they even have a screw installed for connecting wire, I would use them for anything smaller than regular battery posts they just arent meant to open that wide and will bend when forced to.

These are very strong alligator clips. I had to clamp them on to something to keep the jaws open in order to pull the sleeves off. Some reviewers did complain about them not having screws. Mine came with screws but theyre pretty worthless due to their small size. Im using 16 gauge lamp cord so I had to solder directly to the clip. I got better results with soldering by first using a fiberglas scratch bush to rough up the surface and then using a 100/140W Weller soldering gun. I doubt a 25W iron would do. The little foldover tabs at the end of the clip clamp the 16 gauge insulation well. Happy with the end result.

nice product but clips are NOT copper, also was looking for a White Boot but they do not have them. I dipped one of the Red boots in water based paint and it worked great. Nothing else worked as well to get the White boot I wanted.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Images show the presence of a screw for connecting a wire. THERE IS NO SCREW!! There is simply a small hole for you to use, if you can find a screw that will work,
