> 24 hourI think this is the first time Ive ever been moved to write a review of something on Amazon, but its only because of my current level of annoyance with this product, and my need to warn others: Simply put, if youre running anything resembling a current Mac OS (Im using 10.12.6) this product will very probably not work in any acceptable way. I have tried it on several different computers, using several different VCRs, and cable pairings. All cleaned before use. And the results are consistent: on playback either the audio is way out of sync, or its in sync but the picture quality is unwatchable. Customer service has been just slightly better than abysmal. After one round of troubleshooting, the Technical Support person lost interest and stopped responding to my issue/email/concern/plea. I am returning this product, and will put my refund towards a proper high-quality transfer device, like the ones sold by Blackmagic. Its at least $100 more expensive than this product, but given what this experience has already cost me in terms of time and stress and pointless customer-service-chasing, I will happily pay the difference.

> 24 hourI was not sure what to expect from the reviews I read. I have the system requirement and version 1.0.3. My experience with this product was positive. It was easy to install. Each set-up step work first try. It imported easily into iMovie and I was able to use Toast to burn a DVD. I am sure there might be better (more expensive) programs for transferring VHS to the computer, however for the price it does the job it says it will. I transferred two hours of video, imported into iMovie, edited it down to 5 minutes with color and sound corrections, converted it to Quicktime, and uploaded the video to YouTube all on the first try.

> 24 hourThe directions are not that great at all. Should give it only 3 starts for directions.

> 24 hourI am very happy with this purchase. It connected and installed easily and I was able to start capturing those precious home videos from VHS tapes with ease. I am sharing the digitized videos with family via cloud storage, so this is really helping us stay hunkered down during the Cocid-19 crisis.

> 24 hourSetup of the product was easy. The one time it worked -- when I tested it for a couple of minutes on my iMac Intel Core Duo, running OS 10.6.5 -- it seemed to work well. Unfortunately, when I tried to use it again I received a message from the computer that the device was drawing too much current and that the computer had disabled the USB port. Subsequent attempts were ignored by the computer. I tried again on a different Mac on which I had installed the software, but it did not recognize the device either. Obviously, the hardware had been damaged. But this was far from obvious to the Roxio TechSupport people whom I reached via their web site. They would suggest I read the manual (which I had done), install the software (which I had done) and similar useless advice. After faithfully following their advice I told them repeatedly that we obviously seemed to be dealing with a hardware problem, but they have so far simply ignored that possibility. Needless to say, this has been a frustrating process. (I should mention that my professional background is electronic engineering, that I have used Mac computers, peripherals and software since 1986 and that many of my friends ask my help in troubleshooting their Mac hardware and software.) This process has now been going on for a month. It has usually taken 3-5 days for TechSupport to answer my messages and it has now been a week since the last time I heard from them. I have not idea how the device would work if it worked. Will update this review if anything changes.

> 24 hourBought it for my iMac to get video off my old VCR with only composite (red, white, yellow) outputs. The capture device worked OK once, but my 16:9 VHS video came through as 4:3 aspect ratios. Everyone look very thin. The software was very limited with no adjustments despite trying to get help from Roxio Tech Support. Next time I used it, the capture device was not recognized by the software so both were useless. I contacted Tech Support for a replacement or refund. VERY SLOWLY they would email ideas over the last two weeks that I had already tried. So far they have not replaced the unit or refunded anything - just more redundant questions. It seems they are just stalling to wear me out. HOWEVER, THERE IS A GREAT SOLUTION. I got a cheap Composite-to-HDMI converter and a cheap HDMI-to-USB capture device (together both cost about 2/3 the Roxio cost), and I used the free Mac QuickTime Player software (you can record using it). That worked perfectly! Do not buy the Roxio device and software for a Mac.

> 24 hourAwesome product! I bought an off brand of this on Amazon and the picture on the computer came out black and white. I gave this one a try and it works perfectly! Easy to set up and record from the VCR to my Mac!

> 24 hourThis program will allow you to plug it into your video camera, VCR, etc (basically anything with an audio and video output cable) and directly into your USB port on your computer or laptop. It then streams the video and sound feed over, while recording it through its own included software. It comes with basic menus to add. The downside is that the description is deceiving as it requires additional software to edit it with IMovie on your Mac. But if you just want it to stream over your home movies, so that you can burn them to a DVD, then this will get the job done for you. Its easy to use too.
