Greater than one weekWe have been using this product for over 5 years for household kitchen garbage. It works fine. Bags arrive in sheets with perforations easy to tear to separate the bags. A little hard on occasion to spread the bag open, but nothing unexpected for filmy thin plastic. The bag is rarely penetrated while sitting in the garbage can. However, this is not a super-duty and can tear when lifting a heavy load (e.g. 25+ pounds). A related tip... change out the bag before it is full if you need to tie the bag close. These bags do not come with twist ties. You need to tie the corners together for closure. If too full, too much pushing/pulling can tear the plastic in your hands. The trade-off between economy/environment and robust durability seems acceptable and can be accommodated by smart use. I used to worry that the recyclable bags would decay during long storage. I have not had a problem storing them in the dark basement. Will buy again.

Greater than one weekThese are light duty for household trash, not the contractor bags you think of when you see a black trash bag. For heavy items or items with rough edges, stick with heavy duty contractor bags. I have no issue filling these bags with typical household garbage and tying the top closed. However, beware of anything remotely pointy like cardboard box corners which will tear a hole if you pull the bag tight around it. For the price, I figure if I have to double bag every so often, I still save money vs buying bags at the grocery store. If your household likes to shove as much as you can into each bag, these are not for you. If it’s an obstacle course to bring the trash out and the bag will catch on door latches, pets, or fences, these are not for you. If the bags will be used as moving boxes, these are not for you. If you want to get trash out of your house without breaking the bank, these could be the answer you’ve been looking for.

Greater than one weekThese bags are almost 6 feet tall. These are for large trash bins. OK for cans, but not for heavier garbage if you were to fill the bag up, you may break your back carrying. It will be more of a dragging the bag to the trash bin. Some of you have large carts or bins with wheels to take it to the street so it doesn’t apply to you.

> 3 dayThese are a lot thinner than I expected. They work ok for lighter things.
