> 24 hourRadio is better than what I expected — it’s great! It follows in the President tradition of quality products. Look for the Youtube review, you won’t be disappointed, I wasn’t! 2 year warranty from President included. Need a HAM license to operate legally though!

> 24 hourBought this to put in my daughters jeep, small size is great for modern vehicles. Did the resistor mod for CB and made adjustments in the service menu. You can find YouTube videos how to do this. I turned the modulation all the way up with high dead key at 7 watts. Mic gain all the way up with a tiny bit of echo. This thing rocks and swings to 45 watts easily. Stock electret mic sounds great. Doesnt sound scratchy at all, big clean audio. Got a second one for my dads jeep. Same price as cobra 29 and this little radio blows it out of the water. Update: I have 5 of these now. Plan on setting up a few of them mounted in ammo cans with a battery for portable operation when camping etc. Wire dipole antenna easy to make and keep in the can. This radio goes on sale from time to time for $99 if you are willing to wait.

> 24 hourHappy with the radio, I purchased it as a trail radio for my off road trips. I did the 11 meter mod with the resistor and regreased transistors/heat sink. The radio works great and the size was perfect for my small space.

> 24 hourI ordered this radio in April and the unit rattled right out of the box. Obviously something loose inside. I returned it and received a replacement very quickly. The 10 meter ham band is a time of day/sun activity specific band. Three days ago I realized the band was opening (becoming available for transmissions) late in the afternoon so I tried reaching some distant operators. I could hear Dallas/Ft Worth, Denver, and North Carolina operators well but no one seemed to be receiving my CQs . I checked the SWR, better than 1.5, used a watt meter to check the output and found that I my output on the FM band was 6 watts, AM less than 3. This supposed to be a 50 watt radio, what the heck gives?

> 24 hourI bought this to install in a small area in a car and it packs a nice clear punch as well. The speaker seems to sound better than other radios of the past. The mic is smaller than your typical Astatic but works fine. I did wire a road devil to it and it did liven up the audio a bit. It has a setting for dynamic mics as well as the Electret mics so you can run what suits your tastes.
