Works really well. It stands up to its branding. I live in NY an people in Florida say its crystal clear. Do yourself a favor, if your contemplating on getting this unit I did the guess work for you. I was skeptical going in it not going to lie. But now that Ive had it for a month or so, stop thinking about it just do it, pull the trigger. Specially if your just getting into the world of CBs. Or you just want one for your car/truck or Rig. Its a very powerful unit. Look it up on YouTube an see for yourself. Get an antenna with good reviews. Read them an pick carefully. Number One Recommend!!

Its a great cb for beginners I didnt place this in the best spot, but this cb is relatively simple, and really easy to install. It has a lot of good features and a straight forward manual for first timers. 40 channels, VOX, Am and Fm, ASC, etc. Great little unit, small not overly large and fits in multiple locations.

I disliked it because when you keyed the microphone to talk, a high pitched tone was herd. Receive was very good it filtered out the static and only opened the squelch when there was something to receive. FM and AM on same frequency doesn’t work very well. There is interference from AM when you are on FM so you are not getting away from the extreme static that you hear from AM talking on the same frequency.

Good for the price works as expected

I bought 2 others before putting this one in my Jeep. Ill have to say, I believe the quality is better than Cobra or Uniden. I use this with a Firestik antenna on a Jeep and change it out to use with a Magnetic rooftop antenna on a pickup. Worth the money!

great size but only would transmit one watt of power...tried with 2 units!

I bought 14 of these radios for our traveling show fleet. They work perfectly! No more background static and annoying background noises. Crystal clear sound. Range is sufficient. Would get around a mile in the mountains. Would not go around large buildings though. Going to buy these for my personal use now. My only complaint is that there is a channel switch button on top of the mic that many users would hit often causing them to go off channel.

Wanted to try a new CB in my work semi so I decided to try this brand and model. The features for the price seemed great. Also President is supposed to be a solid brand. Nothing but problems. 2022 Freightliner Mated this Cb with a 4” firestik, a beefy Wilson stud, and 18ft of astatic rg8x coax. I could not get the SWR below 2.25. So I added a ground strap from the antenna mount to the frame. The SWR skyrocketed! Why? I don’t have any idea. I spent hours and a lot of money trying different mounts, different coax, different mount positions and nothing worked. I AM DONE. Also, a massive amount of feedback when using talkback feature when keying the mic which has never happened to me before with any other brand CB. Did some searching online for the reason. It was recommended to turn down or turn off the talkback feature. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING THE FEATURE IF YOU CANT USE IT?!?!? Not going to spend a second longer on this unit. It’s going back.

FM comes to USA CB! I got this radio as soon as I saw them available. The radio is the same size as the Andy and Andy 2 and uses the same size mounting bracket. The radio has the Automatic Squelch Control, which works great. It is, however choppy when you listen to one of those radios who the owner got the carrier reduced to create swang an AM receiver requires this carrier to properly receive. This is no fault of the Thomas. This radio has a noise blanker, compander and noise gate. I dont notice any difference with them on or off; but I keep them on. President wouldnt have included them if they didnt do something. The radio has a scan function that works well. Id like to see a lockout for nuisance channels, such as 6. The radio allows both an electret or dynamic microphone by setting microphone type. In not sure what other 6 pin microphones would work for this, though. On AM: Transmit audio is excellent with sufficient modulation with the stock microphone. Receive audio is very good. There is no difference in volume in weak or strong signals, which is great. On FM: No fm users to test. Will update in future. Range is what Id expect with my antenna configuration. There is no weather or alert function. Radio has a talkback function which I never use A Roger beep is provided for those who use them. All in all an excellent radio. President is top of the line.
