I used Parafilm for 42 years working in a Clin Micro lab. In the olden days we always commented how great it wold be to have at home. Woot! Amazon has made my dream come true! This package arrived in great condition. I tested the film right after bringing it in, after it sat outside a while in 28°F weather. The film separated easily from the backing (old film doesnt readily do so), and the film itself is just as beautifully stretchy and sticky-not-sticky as the first time I used it in Med Tech school. Happy day!! PS: This listing is the real Made-in-USA deal. I noticed another listing that said made in China. Accept no imitations!

Initially one spot on the edge of the roll stuck each time it came around - probably from sitting on that spot in storage but now it all comes out smoothly. I have been able to do grafts despite high temps and dry conditions that I am sure would not have been a success otherwise. Apples, grapes, figs and roses so far.

Cracks, splits usually the next day even wrapping multiple times. Tends not to stick either. Is this even the real stuff? This and 996 are completly 2 different items. Size does matter, twice as big but works using 4 side than going towards the length. Harder to pull where pulling slowly does help with that issue for maybe 4x as longer, wrapped 4 times to just see if overlapping even helps out compared to 1. Answer is yes, going above 2 just helps create bigger rips like youre feeding steroids and expecting to be stronger in seal instead muscle rips strong like bull. I think they made a huge batch of bs. It lasts longe when cold if somehow you get that seal in the cold on wet glass. 996 all the way baby! Bigger is better!

I was a little worried after seeing some reviews suggesting the parafilm was too old and that it would break too easily, when my parafilm arrived I immediately took it out for a test wrapping the diameter on one wide mouth 1qt jar lid. At first I thought I had received a bad batch as It was constantly breaking as I tried to wrap around with 2, 3, and even 4 squares! An important note is this is my first time dealing with parafilm so I decided to double check to see if it was user error and it totally was! What you need to do is hold one end to your surface and then pinch just a inch away and stretch out small sections at a time, youll get a feel for when its time to add a little more slack to stretch out. Using this method, with the same parafilm I was able to go around my jar lid not just once but twice with only 2 squares! Good product theres a reason its so popular!
