NOW Supplements, L-Lysine (L-Lysine Monohydrochloride) 500 mg, Amino Acid, 100 Veg Capsules

I had no idea that a vegetarian/vegan diet would make me prone to cold sores, but after getting cold sores one after the other THREE WEEKS IN A ROW! I went online to do research and found a blog explaining that it was due to a lysine deficiency! I bought some 1000mg elephant pills first and took 2-3 a day until they were gone (30 count I believe), and then switched to these, which are much easier to swallow. I started with 2 a day but am now taking one a day and I haven’t had a recurrence of the cold sores, thank god.

I bought l-lysine after hearing about it’s skin benefits on TikTok. I take a lot of supplements so when this came I sat it in the cabinet to add to my pills for the following week. When I went to set up the next weeks round of pills I couldn’t remember what this and a couple of other supplements I take were even for! So I decided it was past time to reevaluate ALL 20+ supplements I was about to add to my weekly pill case. Now I only get a cold sore once every couple of years but I could feel the start of one brewing that morning…when I read the benefits of lysine and remembered why I had bought it (over 40, dull lifeless skin) I also came across the reviews from people who take it for herpes. I didn’t even wait to add it to the pill case and took one with a bit of water on an empty stomach right then, just to see if the cold sore could be helped since they are technically the same virus. WITHIN AN HOUR the prickly bubbly feeling was GONE. The cold sore itself was not but I was almost numbed to the irritation. I took it twice a day for the week I had the cold sore. It did appear and open and scab and all that but let me tell you, it was never painful and it was less than 1/2 the size it normally would have been. Hopefully this will help with my skin too but I will always run to buy this in the future for cold sore help.

I am doing on and off oral chelation for my blocked coronary arteries using vitamin C, sodium citrate, and L-Lysine. The capsules I initially purchased cost $80 for a one-month supply, so buying in bulk saves a lot of money. The only negative is that you need to put it in a smoothie to make it palatable and to dissolve the powders. Thats okay as I use lots of other ingredients to cover up the flavor of my supplements. Here are the proportions: 1/16 tsp plus 1/32 tsp vitamin C powder, 1/8 tsp plus 1/64 tsp Sodium Citrate, and 1/16 tsp from a 100 mg capsule of L-Lysine. You will need a set of small metal measuring spoons to do this.

This lysine is a good price for the content No problem, with these is always questionable if there working in the background or not ...cant tell Ill finish the bottle someday ...

After years of buying another brand of 500mg (which seemed to disappear in favor of only 1000mg dose), tried this. It was used to prevent/suppress cold sores for a member of the family, and within a few weeks of switching to this brand, he had a cold sore—first in more than a decade. Tried agin and got same result. As soon as we switched back to previous brand (even though had to break 1000mg tabs in half), cold sores stopped. Llive and learn.

Shingles be gone! My dad got shingled before, and he did take the meds from the doctor. This was before I discovered L-Lysine. After a few months, however,... he still had some lines on his leg left and some numbness... and then the shingles tried to come back. He got the PAIN. Intense burning pain. I found out about L-Lysine and voila... after a few days taking 3000 mg, the pain subsided. Each passing day less and less pain until poof! It was gone. This is great stuff! And from research, I see that its been used for shingles since the 70s. So, yeah. It works!

I give this as an immune booster to my cat. The capsules are easy to open and reseal, and the cat has never minded the flavor when the powder gets mixed into her wet food.
