Noctua NH-C14S, Premium CPU Cooler with NF-A14 PWM 140mm Fan (Brown)

This thing is a fantastic beast of heat dissipation with the single fan it comes with. Add another on top and I dunno you must be overclocking at the limits, ut Im sure it will handle it. Also very quiet in operation even under stress testing. My only caution is in my title. It comes with Id say the perfect install phillips tool but its hard to see , and unless you do say 4 or 5 of these you wont have the feel for it. Usually one of the two screws is in a hard to observe area so do that one first the second one is easy. Also seeing between the fan blades and getting a good side shot, well an endoscope would have come in handy there. Also with all the attempts I did lose some skin to the cooling vanes. The manufacture warns that once installed dont travel with the computer without first uninstalling the cooler, its heavy enough and in such a small area attachment point I believe it may break off the motherboard in transit or if the desktop falls a few feet. Bought this mainly to boost the overclock of an FX-8320E. I was hoping that the top down design would better cool the surrounding motherboard components. The northbridge is actually running a few degrees hotter. My previous cooler was an old 120 mm Xigmatek tower cooler that cost one third what this one does. It cooled just as well and the Scythe fan on it is quieter than the Noctua 140 mm at load. I sort of feel Ive been taken.

I purchased this CPU cooler based on the reputation of the company and other user reviews on multiple sites. It appears to be working well with my high end i7 processor. The fan is super quiet which is a definite plus.

Upgraded my firewall appliance to an i7-4770K to make full use of the throughput provided by my new 500/500 Mbps internet connection. Running Prime95 or AIDA64s System Stability Test saw temps that were alarmingly high so I replaced the cooler I had on the outgoing CPU (an i5-4570T) with this and like every other system of mine that has been graced by a Noctua cooler the temps came right down to comfortable values.

This product was the largest CPU cooler that would fit in my case. The dinky 92mm cooler tower that the prebuilt came with would ramp up to 4400rpms to keep the 12700k from cooking itself. The noise was very unpleasant from the recliner 12 feet away. Now that the noise is almost undetectable when the C14s ramps up the fan. Its a pretty cooler also if you mount the fan under the heatsink. 10/10

Fit perfectly on my Asus Prime z370-a mobo for an Intel i7-8700k cpu, inside a Corsair Spec-Alpha case. Super quiet. I added a second fan to it and I can still use all of the memory slots.
