Why is this an Amazon Choice??? Image shows Red LED indicator. Cheap plastic has a mold imprint there. Seems to be putting out 11-19VAC at 58.5khz instead of 9VDC. Metal retaining ring fell off

As other reviewers have stated, the output of this charger is NOT CORRECT for the Whistler models listed that call for a 9v power source. This charger outputs 12 volts! Using it risks damaging your expensive scanner.

Absolutely not the one for my ws-1040 I had to force the plug into my scanner.It might have worked but I’m not going to damage my high dollar scanner for this 10 dollar item.Sorry
