> 24 hourAbsolutely fantastic Bushcraft/survival knife. Well built and mines been beaten to every way possible and still retakes a fine edge with little work.

> 24 hourI have owned several Moras before and have been very satisfied with them. Naturally, I was excited to receive this beautiful knife; but was a little disappointed when I noticed the edges did not line up with each other. I have never noticed this particular drastic flaw in the previous Moras. I will see how the edge performs under use but it may have to be returned.

> 24 hourFinish and sharpness exceeded my expectations by a WIDE margin. Very high quality blade and worth the money as a bushcraft knife. Razor sharp right out of the box and holding the edge very well so far. Very pleased I followed some recommendations for the Mora Garberg Carbon Steel.

> 24 hourExcellent knife for the money. It has a modified scandi grind (basically a saber grind), which makes it more resilient for wood processing and skinning/processing animals but less so for detailed carving/whittling or food preparation (although it can be used for those as well, it just wont be as good as a Morakniv companion or the 511 for those tasks). Its carbon steel so it needs to be cared for, but it also makes it easy to resharpen in the field and it gets SUPER sharp very easily. The spine can be used as a ferro rod striker, and to scrape wood dust, and it does produce sparks if you hit it with a flint. I like the mole mount, there are detailed youtube videos showing you how to mount it, or how to use it with the belt loop, but still some people hate it. I have the leather one too, and I like it as well, but IMO the mole mount is more versatile.

> 24 hourWith time and patience this will be a great knife, but it should have been a great knife right out of the box. First impression of the Garberg, feels great in the hand, nice weight, decent blade thickness, nice square spine, but Wow!, this knife is dull. And not just dull, its a course Scandi grind. Yuck, I have several $15 Mora Companions that Ive used extensively over the years All of them had a far superior finished edge and a much finer, polished Scandi grind than this Garberg. How bad is it, when I drag my fingernail down the cutting edge it chatters, feels like the edge of a file. Why Morakniv would allow the Garberg to ship with such a foul, rough, unfinished edge is dumbfounding! If I didnt have a nice collection of bench stones and strops I would return this Morakniv Garberg. However, I know in a couple hours this will be a great knife. If this course grind and edge is the norm I dont recommend this knife.... Unless youre prepared to take on the finishing and polishing of a Scandi grind or you dont care about the Scandi grind and will settle for a secondary bevel. JMHO, Huge Morakniv fail Update, with pictures Finally got the Garberg on the bench. Took the Scandi grind to a nice field polish with a stropped edge. For me it was worth the extra effort, just part of the hobby. But like the title says, is not for everybody. This is just to help you decide. 11 months later I changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars. The Garberg is pleasure to work with. It has held up great, and has been pretty low maintenance. Takes an edge in a reasonable amount of time and keeps the edge for a long time when used within the boundaries of its purpose of use. As expected the square spine will rain sparks from a good fero rod. Its lot of knife for the money.
