I own 2 of these. One is the feed point for a 4 band fan dipole. The other feeds a an end fed Zepp style wire antenna like this: https://images.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fve3clq.files.wordpress.com%2F2011%2F01%2Fw3edpverticalmodel2.jpg&f=1 I could not build a current balun for much less money than these cost shipped.

I purchased this for an off center fed dipole project. This is a new antenna type for me so there was lots of experimentation, climbing ladders, changing leg lengths, etc. - all the normal new antenna stuff. Today, while doing soME more experimentation, one of the leads has become completely disconnected internally. My antenna legs were always connected to the eye bolts on each side so there was never any direct strain placed on the leads. Id have expected there to be some sort of internal strain relief so that this couldnt happen. Completely worthless to me now. Dont have the packaging so dont think Amazon will take it for return. EDIT: Contacted MFJ directly and they are replacing the balun. So, good review for customer service from them but Im leaving 2 stars because the balun did break after only about 2 weeks of use.

The UHF output was misaligned and fixing that isnt easy as you cant remove screws or take this thing apart in any reasonable way. However, performance of this balun is pretty good with multiple wire HF configurations.

    Cheap enough and works.

Balun works fine with my 80-10 OCF Windom antenna.

When the balun arrived, it rattled inside. Disassembly showed that 2 nuts and a washer were floating loose inside. Actually trying to use this balun could have been disastrous. I will repair it just because as an electronic tech, thats what I do, and I enjoy the challenge. Basically, for most folks... buyer beware!

Not good quality. Limited range of frequencies.

Yes its not 1kw but for a 100w radio it works perfectly fine and being so lightweight it didnt drag my OCF down since i have no way to support from the feed point, only pulled tight from the ends. So for my needs it was perfect.

It does what it is supposed do!. used it for a multi-band home brew dipole.

This MFJ-913 works great on my 80,40,20 OCF but only up to 40 meters. The swr is great at 80 and 40, just a touch of tuning is needed at 20. But now my feed line is radiating on 80 meters after only a week of having it up and is causing rfi in the house. Im only running up to 100 watts. Probably just a quality issue im guessing.

The MFJ-913 is a 300 Watt true current baluns/antenna center insulators that transforms 200 ohms to 50 ohms. Transmission Line Transformer construction using 100 ohm characteristic impedance transmission line gives flat 160-10 Meter response. Large low permeability ferrite cores easily handle full power. SO-239, stainless steel hardware with direct 14 gauge stranded copper wire connection to antenna. Heavy duty weather housing. Measures 4¼ x 2 inch diameter.
