> 3 dayOne of my favorite things about this SSD is that it was instantly recognized by my computers BIOS. Originally, the laptop had a really slow 250GB 5200RPM hard drive. So, I got this and the computers performance felt like night and day. It was easy to install, assuming your device storage controller is SATA.

> 3 dayInstallation was easy. I needed more room so I ghosted my 128 gig to this 240 gig so there was plenty of room. SSDs are much faster and the prices have come down so much it makes its a must to upgrade.

> 3 dayI inherited back an old Dell desktop PC that I had bought a family member in 2008. It came with Vista, upgraded to Windows 7, and it was not very fast especially browsing sites with lots of Javascript and ads. I knew upgrading to Windows 10 (which was an option) was just not realistic. I was not ready to give up on the PC, either. I decided to install this Kingston SSD, install CloudReady from NeverWare (a version of ChromeOS that is free for home usage and can be used on a wide variety of PCs) on this SSD, and set the default boot to be CloudReady. This limits the exposure of running Windows 7 now that it is out of support, and it is substantially faster. Takes less than 1 minute to boot to the login screen, and takes less than 90 seconds after that to be into Chrome and browsing. It has kept an old PC from the recycling folks for now, and for the most part, it is more than adequate for basic web browsing. There are still some heavy sites that do cause it to drag, and Im sure an ad blocker would help with those if I chose to install one. Overall, Im very pleased with the SSD. I decided I didnt want to spend very much, and I knew Chromium would not require much of the SSD. Out of 102 GB usable space, Chromium installed with two user accounts and cached web data is taking less than 8 GB leaving me with 95 GB of SSD space. I am very pleased, and overall, I spent very little money to extend the life of an old PC.
