> 24 hourThis was a barebones kit. I got my own RAM and SSD, everything went together fine and the NUC even took Linux without a headache. Just make sure that you update your BIOS before trying to install ANYTHING, even Windows. I had the memory, storage, and OS installed in less than 45 minutes and have had zero issues with anything.

> 24 hourZippy and quiet just what I needed. Creating a home lab with a type 1 hypervisor I have an ESXi 6.7 key so I will most likely go that route. Bought a second to mess around with not sure what OS but I put ubuntu 19.10 on this, for now, was up in less than an hour. I went this route for ease of use and was not disappointed. 12 threads so its seen as 12 cores @ 1.8mhz. 64GB 32X2 Samsung 2666, 1 nvme 1TB Samsung 970 evo+ m.2 all this is on the approved vendor list so no compatibility issues. Seems like it will make a solid platform to practice real-world virtualization. I was going to build an threadripper server but decided to go more modular.

> 24 hourAmazon was good about a full refund after the first one broke a few weeks after the return window had expired. What broke was the bios... it became unable to boot. I couldn’t even get to the bios menu of F2.

> 24 hourWas looking for a compact PC with 6 core i7 CPU, this seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately CPU pegged as soon as I tried to stream. Not sure if it is because of the low base clock speed, or something else. Ultimately had to return.

> 24 hourIm happy with the size and build quality of this device.

Yeah Dude
> 24 hourI loved everything about this device when I built it. its fast, small, efficient, everything I wanted. What I didnt think of before I ordered was Wi-Fi performance. The machine this replaced was a full size desktop with a PCI Wi-Fi card with an external antenna that had really good throughput/connectivity. This device doesnt even come close. There is a 3rd party that makes a replacement lid that has antennas, but theres no way Im doing this while the device is under warranty.

> 24 hourLate to the party, but just fyi to fellow IT people: avoid these unless youll be running Linux or are using WSUS to block drivers. Literally with fresh installs of the latest--and I mean latest, Jan 2023, builds from my VS Pro subscription--Win10 Pro *and* Win11 Pro, and literally minutes after I allow windows update to kick in and start installing driver updates it becomes unbootable. And not just that, you cant reinstall windows via bootable USB without--I kid you not--reformatting the hard drive. Because either Windows Setup screws up or the BIOS screws up or... honestly, who knows.

> 24 hourLove the size and power (for a laptop chip) of this Intel nuc. Easy setup, for RAM and HD, I bought a m.2 SSD. Just what I needed for power and ability.
