6700からの乗り換えで買いました。

I mean its a 12th gen Core i7, It is extremly fast and does everything you throw at it!

i9 12900も検討しましたが、空冷ファンで安定した運用をしたかった為こちらを選びました。結論としては i7-12700Fで十分で、むしろベンチで高負荷掛ける状況でなければ有り余る性能だと思います。最近の部品不足や円安で若干値上がりはしていましたが、それでも消費電力も抑えられていて長く使える良いCPUだと思います。

Everything I read said itd be super mega hot - and so I paired it with a 360mm AIO. So far, temps are GREAT.

While this is a great CPU with all the bells and whistles, but for gaming there is not real reason to go with this rather than i5 12600K(F). This may shine in productivity tasks where core count matters more, but overall its a decent CPU.
