> 3 dayDefinitely a good CPU and it cant be beat for gaming but I cant say its value for money you are paying for the brand name here. And when it comes to core temps during high workloads it plain sucks on anything but high end coolers or AIO cooling unless you want thermal throttling. Just to expensive Intel! If you can afford it I would wait for 9th gen for better thermals. But if you are looking at price to performance AMDs Ryzen line up just has it beat right now and you can put the saving towards a better graphics card.

> 3 dayPretty disappointed got this to install on a gigabyte mobo and the indents are slightly off. Currently we have an i5 intel chipset on the mobo. Sure enough when comparing the processors the indents are off enough that i7 won’t fit in the processor slot on the board! This is bs there is no reason or purpose for this change other than to make $$. The chips not faster because the indents changed! This was a birthday gift for my son and an upgrade for his gaming computer we built. I’m so frustrated. And my son is totally disappointed.
