> 3 dayAlmost went with the 12900K, but chose this due to not needing another 4 cores for $300 extra. It’s been a couple weeks and been flawless.

28-10-2024I think all of the modern chips are overpriced since the great shortage but I wanted a new pc and chose what would be best for my application. Runs great (if a little hotter than I was anticipating) and I havent had any problems yet.

> 3 dayYo trabajo con edición y producción audiovisual, ha mejorado mucho el rendimiento de la PC, sin duda su velocidad base es una gran ventaja, no utilizo OC porque creo que a día de hoy no hay mucho beneficio y perfectamente con la velocidad base puede con las tareas multitasking con programas pesados.

> 3 dayGreat CPU so far. Only limiting this CPU at the moment is the early versions of Z690 motherboard software that might not be overclocking at optimal levels (using auto overclock). Make sure you have a good CPU cooler or a cooler designed for the LGA 1700. Currently the Gigabyte settings for overclocking (bios or windows app) is pushing the CPU above spec and will cause throttling. I am using a Corsair H150i Elite CAPELLIX 360mm.

> 3 dayI put together a gaming PC collecting parts over time as I had funds to purchase. Finally put it all together and it ran well for about 2 weeks and then I began having blue-screen crashes. Now it wont even complete a windows install on a clean drive without crashing. Tried two mother boards, 6 memory sticks, 3 NVMe drives, and two power supplies before being forced to realize the processor is causing my issue. I am now out of the quick return path grace period and must try to RMA through Amazon. If you buy one of these chips, or any part for that matter, use it right away in case it is a bad part.

> 3 dayIntel obviously isnt a slouch when it comes to processors. However, this one really hits the sweet spot between performance and price. Well see what happens when AMD releases the Ryzen 7000 series later this year, but if you dont want to wait, generally prefer Intel, and dont want to spring for an i9, this processor will absolutely take what you can throw at it.
