Performs like a beast! Running 5.4 Ghz stable, liquid cooled with no thermal throttling.

This my second build on alder lake. I was so impressed with the i5 12400 I put together I gave it to a family member and decided to go with a i7 12700k. Its just amazing, blazing fast and well priced, I couldnt be happier.

Sold my i9-9900k after using it for a few years and back in Sept. went with Ryzen 9 5900X and MSI B550 Unify X great combo but under water my temps were a bit too high for my standards even with pbo /negative offset settings I wasn’t happy with the temps. This Alder Lake CPU is running at 22c on Idle and 52c to 56 under full load “Gaming at 1440p under an EK D5 pump reservoir . All I can say this thing is faster than my i9-9900K and faster and cooler than my previous AMD Ryzen builds .

I had been planning to hold off for Raptor Lake, but my Z370 mobo died, and I decided to go ahead and get an Alder Lake i7. So far its impressive. It runs much cooler than my i9-9900k (mild OC) ( 59C-63C under a gaming load vs 75C+) but that couldve been due to the my old AIO being in its death throws for the past few months. 3DMark CPU score went up noticeably as well. Overall, Im pretty happy with it. Havent messed around with overclocking yet, but there doesnt seem to be as much headroom left as there used to be, from what Ive read 5.3 Ghz is about what you can expect. The days of getting another 800Mhz - 1 Ghz+ over stock clocks out of a CPU are gone it seems.

This is the most anyone should need for a while as of 2022 (at least for gaming).
