Beautiful set. Worth every penny.

I needed to open my Dell laptop and replace a battery. The pry tool was perfect for getting the back cover off without damaging the edge. And the magnetic screwdriver made the job incredibly easy. Five stars for sure. Every attention to detail has been paid in producing this kit. I would imagine this is more for a pro, but I expect I will use it often enough for precision work.

The issue with iFixits tool set is that they use S2 steel which is a type of steel that is prone to shattering, breaking, bending, etc. I didnt know this until I researched it. All the bits were bending, breaking cracking, etc, and I couldnt figure out why until I educated myself on steel Hardness properties. When it comes to bits and the torque that you sometimes will have to use with these bits, you dont want a bit made with S2 steel. They advertise that they use S2 steel like its supposed to be a great thing!... Its not. So I bought this kit a couple years ago, and I have several broken or bent pieces/bits. Look for a better set that has a stronger steel. Bits and tools should be made with a hard steel like what they use in Drill bits. The manufacturers of this tool set probably thought people would be using this set for light work and most of the time that is the case, that is why most people are satisfied with this set. For me, I use this set for everything and anything that needs a really small bit. They constantly snap, break strip or bend. I wouldnt recommend this set until iFixit uses a stronger steel in the bits. I included a pic of a couple examples. This shouldnt happen to bits like this. I wasnt even using much torque/strength when these issues occurred!

I bought this kit for my son as a gift. He used the tools when he was building his computer. He told me they worked great and we’re handy. Very good for intricate details
