> 3 dayIm a bit biased in vampire shows having seen all of Angel before Forever Knight. While I was disappointed in season 1, I felt season 2 was mostly stronger and better written. It starts strong from the season premier. The 2nd episode is by Gillian Horvath who also wrote for Highlander. The episodes are more representative of a vampire show than a cop show. (I guess bad 1st seasons can be forgiven as writters need to learn what the show is about.) After a while, the episodes do revert to mediocre and feeling more like a cop show than a vampire show. An episode called Queen Of Harps is my favorite to date. The present day story isnt great, but it provides a vessel for good flashbacks. And even though there are issues with events dates and geography, its overall a touching story where you can feel the struggle of the long years lived by an immortal being. All in all, the episodes wind up a little better. If anything, the flashbacks are what gets better, while the main stories are bland vessels to tell Nicks past. LaCroix is now a radio talk show host, using the airwaves to haunt Nick. Sometimes its good poetry. Why Nick bothers to listen is only assumed cause he is like Nicks father and he still wants some guidance from him. Their relationship is disappointing after how season 1 ended, revealing why Nick hates him. I figured theyd be fighting. While further tensions do arise, instead of going somewhere clever, LaCroix just lets Nick have his way. Perhaps that is LaCroix trying to win Nick back through kindness and deedz, but it feels out of character. The balance between human & vampire is very fragile and hard to get right. LaCroix was also mumbling something about the age of Aqualius (or Aquarius) as if interesting stuff was coming, but it didnt. It still feels like a lack luster show, where its nice to catch an episode but not the type you make time to catch every week. I enjoyed seeing them put a bit of Lacroixs back story towards the end. However, LaCroix is a French name, and the trio always seemed to be French vampires. Now suddenly he is a,Roman soldier. Now before you get into that Rome conquered France, remember it wasnt France yet, it was Gaul. And those people were arch enemies, not trusted soldiers of the empire. I was disgusted on the last episode where the camera had Don Skanke out of focus for 5 seconds. This again speaks to the cheap production of the show. The dvd programming is a little better, as the teaser and opening credits are now a chapter each. The glowing thumbnails for episodes are annoying. It would have been better to stick to just episode names. I give an average rating cause they did give some special features to make buying a dvd set worthwhile. The interviews segments are good. I havent listened to the commentaries yet, but there are 4.

> 3 dayNothing wrong with the shows. What I didnt like was that I had to buy each show separately. I couldnt buy the whole season at one time. Also, you list Season 3, yet I cannot purchase any episodes for that season.
