Far Out

Great soundtrack, loved the way they shot the overall film (it has this great Kerouac feel), and especially loved that many of the locations were hike accessible. Im not a huge fan of ski movies where every destination is entirely out of reach for most people.

Some of the more critical reviews are definitely warranted. The kaleidoscopic-style intro felt a little overdone. The discontinuous timeline was a little jarring at the beginning, took me a minute before I went OH thats what they are going for. To me the first 2/3 of the film all blended together, each segment lacked distinct character. The two parts that stood out were the 12 year old Kai, and the Jeremy Jones snowboarding segment. The best part of the movie IMO was the last 20 minutes, they hit the jackpot in terms of the storytelling with the Hidden Mountains (Alaska) portion, with an adequate Albania climax to round out the film.

In a day when ski movie companies decided they need to address social justice and changing the world, TGR puts out what I came to see. Great skiing in awesome places!

Great ski movie, best one I’ve seen so far in 2018. Lots of great locations, sweet shots and great music. Get stoked for the season!

Bit of a disappointment after the excellent Rogue Elements, the soundtrack was a big step back.
