I bought this with plans to bury the bottom part in the soil and it worked perfectly! I hotglued the bottom to tank as a means of extra insurance, but my baby crestie has been climbing up and down this plant with ease! It did have a strong chemical smell upon arrival, but after soaking the plant in warm, soapy water the smell has vanished.

Good little decoration and looks pretty in my snakes enclosure.
