It’s a really cool device. It’s stupid that the el gato software is not compatible with many different software and relies on plugins from companion to actually be useful. Attaching via plugin programs like companion can be finicky and potentially unstable. Do better el gato.

If you stream, dont even think about it. Just buy it. The Stream Deck is the single most useful piece of kit for streamers that Ive come across outside the basics like a camera and mic. The only reason you should hesitate on buying this is if you are thinking about buying the larger version.

I didnt think I would have as many uses for this as I have. The scripting and API access for some other applications has made this an indispensable tool for our streaming and live production events. Tying this into a BlackMagic ATEM for live production has helped minimize the keying errors during events and performed some complex magic...exactly what this was designed for. Well done Elgato!

I dont need many buttons for streaming so this worked perfectly for me. I have had zero issues with it and the software works great. Sometimes can be a little tricky with the software and setting it up but you get used to it fast.

Using this for gaming. Can define profiles for each game. Even using in World of Warships instead of the direction keys. And for shortcuts in office products for work. Love it.

Okay, So let me start off that if you are looking to get into streaming/recording videos this thing is not a must have. Now on that note if you have the funding to purchase the mini stream deck I would still recommend that you do so. When it comes to streaming it makes managing your stream and your different scenes such a breeze instead of having to click out of you game to click around your stream software of choice. For me personally the stream deck has helped me a fair amount when it comes to my streams. my transitions to different scenes are smoother and not allot of me bouncing between different ones to find the right hotkey, I can have an automated message sent to the chat to make sure they are drinking water and getting rest when needed. where it dose not have a lot of versatility outside of the streaming/recording part of your pc. I believe it gives one a sense of organization and control that without one you dont truly notice until you finally use a stream deck. The software you get so you can set up your stream deck is very simple to understand and makes customizing it a breeze!
