> 3 dayI saw this DVD after reading the book. I thought it followed the book very well except in a few instances. I know I will view it a least once a year.

> 3 dayThe acting was excellent. I liked the flashbacks when Gatsby and Daisy met and when she made her choice to marry a rich man. Costumes, sets, and music set the mood. You know Gatsys dream of finally having Daisy will never happen, that even his great wealth will not win her.

> 3 dayWho doesnt want to see a young Paul Rudd as Nick Carraway? While it can in no way capture the beautiful prose of Fitzgeralds classic novel, it is a relatively faithful adaptation of the book. I found this more suitable in the classroom than the flashy adaptation by Luhrman as it is very tame, there being only one scene that is a bit risque for school.

> 3 dayGreat movie with two great stars. Wonderful version that should be added to anyones movie collection.

> 3 dayAlmost none of the glamor of the Jazz Age is captured in this lukewarm adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgeralds masterpiece. Miro Sorvino is a fine actress, but shes terribly miscast as Daisy Fay Buchanan in this mediocre offering from A&E. The Redford/Farrow version is superior by far.

> 3 dayLiked better than I did when it first came out...however, do not understand the casting of Toby Stephens...ranges from an understated performance to an almost not present performance. Not my favorite Nick, but better than I had anticipated. Strong Jordan. But this is not a memorable production even though everyone is trying...to me it is disappointing. My DVD defective...pauses and stops, excellent seller ...replaced immediately but still defective...just better than the first one.

> 3 dayThe movie played out just like the book. Really the only difference was how they began with showing Gatsby getting killed, which I thought was good. Nicks character was played perfectly, it could not have been done beteter. His role was played perfectly, healways seemed a little bit confused. Gatsby wasnt all that well played, but it was good enough. It would be hard to find someone that could pull off all of Gatsbys subeltys. The movie was very acurate to the book. The production was great, costumes were very accurate to both book and time period.
