> 3 dayI needed this for only one issue. The steering arm on my old riding mower could not be adjusted due to bad threads both female and male. I cut off about 3/8 inch of the steering arm, re-threaded it with the die, and re-threaded the female with the tap and reassembled the arms. By making the arms shorter I was able to adjust the wheels and make them point in the same direction instead of cross eyed. The tap and die worked perfectly for this one need. Since it was single use for me (so far) I dont know real quality or longevity of the tools. Therefore the four instead of five star.

Greater than one weekPoor quality, not cut well and cheap material is starting to rust even with oil coating

06-11-2024I just got this today and used it to see if I could fix a rotor that had a broken stud. The stud was drilled out already. Before I could get through two of the flutes broke on the ends so now it wont go in straight. So for me its more of a one time use. You mileage may vary.

> 3 dayNot as expensive as the others. Great value for the money. May not be a everyday item, but for the odd job that I had it worked to perfection.

> 3 dayBoth the tap and the die clean up the treads nicely. I used the tap to clean up the female threads in cast iron. I used the die to clean up the threads on the bolt.

> 3 dayNeeded this tool to recut the threads on the bolts and holes of an engine mount. They were stripped from entering at the wrong angle. Using some cutting fluid made them spin on super easily. Great product that solved a big problem.

> 3 dayThe tap is HSS; however, the die is not HSS and is soft with many attached machining millers on the threads.
