So I found the best way to use this is in layers. I have a leopard gecko tank. I bought coconut fiber and laid that down first, then moss and bark. Definitely keeps the humidity in for a nice shead. For the size this is a little pricey. But it looks really nice and I think my girls like the moss more than just coconut fiber alone.

This bag of substrate is much bigger than I thought itd be! Im very pleased about that! Its made of Vietnamese dried moss and bark. When you open it, you cam smell what the forest floor aroma. Its not overpowering, in fact I actually like it. I got this for part of the land area inside my Red Slider box turtles terrarium. I think its perfect as Im going for as realistic of an environment for them as possible. Really happy with this product, price point is good and you get a lot! Definitely recommend.

My juvenile dessert tortoise likes to hide when she sleeps. This material provided plenty of good fluff for her to bury herself with. This was perfect as it allowed her to quickly settle into her nightly routine and tuck herself in. However, its absorbent properties are not compatible with a reptile that pees a lot. My tortoise does. Unfortunately, it does not have a lot of absorbent capabilities, which means, if my little girl relieved herself before I had a chance to take her outside, the substrate is pretty much ruined and needs replacing. Hence the reason for the 4 stars. If your reptile does not pee much, this would be perfect as it allows them to make little hiding places.

My tortoise really liked this bedding matetial. Its thick and rocky and gives him something to explore and climb on in addition to his coconut fiber.

I really like the substrate for my crested gecko. It’s a really nice quality and it has everything I need to make her habitat look natural. She seems to really like this substrate. This is well worth it and I will be getting it again.

WOW - Good quality substrate at a great price - what more could You ask? Arrives in one bag with 2 substrates bagged separately inside of it (which is nice as You can mix or tailor it to your liking). Bark is actually really decent, not dusty and busted up like most of the stuff from the Big Box Pet Stores. Definitely a 5-star for Value and Quality!

I have tried several substrates and this seems to be the winner for my tortoise. He like to burrow in it and sleep.

This is a great mix of substrate. Very nice for bioactive set ups.

This comes as a two bags within a single package. One bag are the bark chips, the other is the compressed moss. The 24 quarts is mainly from expanding the compressed moss. The bark chips are fairly big in size, about 1.5, and maybe a quart in total. I thought this might be a more even mix between moss and bark, and that it would come premixed, with smaller bark chips.

The word from my niece who has a reptile rescue nonprofit is that her creatures like this mix of bark and moss. Not a terribly big bag, and she goes through a lot of substrate, but still, it was good that she could try this out to see if shed want to buy bigger quantities.
