Considering the title and description are in English I thought the show would have been in English or at least be English dubbed. There are only English subtitles for this show. Kinda wish Amazon would be make mention of this before we have to learn about it while trying to watch to show. On a computer it is easier to see that the show is not in English, but this is much harder to do when watching on a TV.

The odds of a woman having a daughter are worse than winning the lottery on this show. After the first few episodes it seems that the show only wanted to show the happy ending of a boy baby, because every pregnancy after the first few shows had a son. They have these strange time jumps throughout each episode, that if added together throughout say have a dozen episodes should have advanced the time in the show by 2-5 years as they are often following the full length of fertilization to the son leaving the hospital. However the characters do not age that same amount of time and there stories only progress days worth of time. You can count the adults and aging well, but they talk about their children, who remain the same age constantly. The show starts out reasonable, but they start to make the villainous characters ridiculously evil to the point of being cliche, and the persecution and goodness of the good characters similarly farcical. I kept watching because I had liked the characters, and though most of the things were slowly getting to me, it was one to many sons being born that did it. It felt like the show was showing only the birth of a boy to be a good pregnancy outcome, as the show was getting a little hit you over the head with its show of what was good and what was bad, and as a mother of daughters, that started to bug me. Sure having a son is great, but so is having a daughter and it is supposed to happen half the time, and in a show about babies being born it is kind of fun to be excited for the new moms about what they are going to have, but only if there really is more than one option. In this show, it was live son, or dead child.

Well acted, great characters, good story lines, good camera work. Dumansky is the token sleazeball. As with other foreign language offerings, I do wish I could speak and read Russian. Otchin harusho.

I really enjoyed binge watching the show. After having 5 kids I can really relate to some of the pregnant women. I loved how the main actor, male gynecologist, has so much empathy & feelings towards his patients. He went above and beyond his duties. Such a sweet guy.

This show has great acting and love the realness to it. The subtitles work great. I just started watching it and very much enjoy it.

Some of the most laughable acting Ive ever seen, but thats to be expected when viewing a hospital show through a soap opera lens. Entirely unrealistic, but perhaps mildly entertaining on a certain level. That said, I hope Russian hospitals dont operate like this one does.
