Crucial P1 1TB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe Internal SSD, up to 2000MB/s - CT1000P1SSD8

I was in the same position as another review owning an Apple Laptop - in my case a MacBook Pro 13 2018 model with existing 512Gb solid state drive. Its not an option to use the Crucial P1 1TB drive internally so I also purchased a rather smart external case with both one of the newish USB-C connectors which my laptop uses together with a USB A for maximum flexibility with older machines if not speed.

I tried various things to troubleshoot this NVMe and nothing helped. Device constantly failed and required a restart to show it again, but would fail trying to read or write more than 200mb at a time and cause it to disappear or be inaccessible again.

Needing additional drive space on my desktop computer I decided to install this SSD card. The desktop didn’t support this type of SSD directly so I needed an adapter to install it on the motherboard. I bought one locally for under twenty dollars.

I did a lot of research looking for a solid well made SSD that would last the life of our computers. This was the best balance between affordability and performance. I bought 2 of these for our 2 gaming computers to use as our main game drives. Install was extremely simple, but youll need to look in your motherboard packaging to ensure you have the screws to secure them. They do not come with any hardware. After getting the computer booted back up it took 20 seconds to format and it was ready to rock! Might actually pick up 2 more to fill the other M.2 slots

This model SSD is 1/2 the price of a premium (Samsung) model. The reason for this is thermal management.
