Personally I went for the higher clock rate but otherwise identical 1866 Mhz chips (2 x 8 GB = 16GB). As clock speeds are constantly on the rise I wanted to buy some ram that doesnt end up being a bottle neck in my overall system performance in a year or two.

One thing to keep in mind if you use the CPU cooling fan I did it would be tight to use this tall profile in all the banks because of it hitting the cooling fan I purchased. I used bank 2 instead and had no problems unless I wanted to add to bank 1 as well. Memory is terrific and had no problems since I purchased 2 sticks on a 4 bank motherboard.

> 24 hourFirst off the sticks are a bit tall and when I tried to fit the Phanteks PH-TC14PE cooler in, the clearance was too low. I ordered knowing that I could mod the cooler fins to fit any sized DRAM so this wasnt an issue but this is a warning for those with large coolers.
