> 3 dayIve been using CloSYS mouthwash and toothpaste consistently for more than a year. Love these products, but the mouthwash bottle leaks unless you close it very tightly. The bottle arrives with an adhesive seal underneath the cap, so there is no problem with leakage during shipping. Once you remove the seal, however, remember to close very tightly to prevent leaking. Otherwise, if you shake the bottle, some mouthwash will come out. Why would you ever need to shake the bottle, you ask. Maybe its only my imagination, but I think that shaking the bottle distributes the flavoring, making it taste mintier. When you twist the cap closed until it stops, using a normal amount of force, that is not enough. You then need to grip it tighter and give it an extra twist. Then you should be ok. If you squeeze the bottle and don’t hear any air escaping, it is fully closed.

> 3 dayYou can add as much or as little flavor as you prefer. It is a healthy alternative to regular mouthwash. My dental visits show improvement.

Greater than one weekCloSys is a very good product and I am glad to be using it. However, I gave it only 3 stars because of the bottle cap. Its too small for its intended use. Over one year ago they said they were getting a new, more useful cover, but they never have. Why?

Greater than one week14 years ago, my dentist suggested I use Closys for sensitive teeth. I’ve switched dentists since then but am still using Closys toothpaste and mouthwash. They have kept my teeth white and my gums painless since. Not switching toothpaste.

> 3 dayThe flavor is not real strong. I use it because my dentist recommended it because I have periodontal disease.

> 3 dayIve struggled for years with bad gums (inherited from my father). The dentist has told me I have very irritated gums, and deep pockets, with a high bad-bacteria count that makes the gums worse. This is despite very consistent brushing, flossing, and tongue scraping most of my adult life. A few years ago, my dentist had me start with the waterpik using some solution he sold me (I forget the brand, but it was a red fluid). It held the line, my gums didnt get worse, but they didnt improve either. I switched to watered-down peroxide when the rinse brand had a recall. My gums got worse, all red and irritated. I switched to CloSYS about six months ago. Just had my best checkup in years. Pockets went from 4-5s (youll know what that means if you have similar issues) down to 1-2s with only a couple 3s. Bleeding was almost non-existent. I didnt do anything differently than in the recent past years other than switching to this stuff. So I have to give them credit. I dont bother with the mint flavor, the straight up stuff taste is fine. Its not cheap to use every day, but the results are worth it to me.
