Nice product

I have used meters for years and have always wanted something small and easy to read. I have had some great $200 meters but you dont want to get it out of the case in some environments. I dont want to set it down in whatever is on the surface where I am working. The needle meters for $20 wont give you the accuracy you need. If you used to an expensive auto range those cheap meters wont last long. This meter does almost everything my expensive one does for much less and is easy to carry and setup. I can easily hold it in my hand while taking readings and not worry about the mess around me. The best part has got to be the display. I can read it anywhere. I love this little meter.

Accurate and ease of use

I never tried a multi-meter like this before! It can read the resistance of a resistor, check the voltage level of a battery and check for household electrical breaking points and current flow. The socket tester can measure the voltage going through the cords. But I would like something that can check for short circuits. i just discovered a better version of the pen-like tester covered and sold separately with what appears to be a full-color LCD display.

The functions work as expected. Detection wise, theres a sentivity setting for NCV. The issue is the probe sensor/antenna is probably not at the sharp pointy end, and behaving more like it is inside the unit. It will work detecting voltage for sure in an electrical socket or wire, and sensitive enough to differentiate between 2 adjascent wires which is the live one. However, the dealbreaker for me is the probe color scheme. The main Amazon photo shows a monotone color scheme for the probe. That is - the red probe is entirely red. But what I received was like the last photo in Amazon which as stupid and dangerously confusing black-red-then-red at probe coloring. Whats worse is the cap follows the long handle. So when you take off the black cap, the end tip is red! It is so easy to confuse black vs red! Did the designers never use the tool? See photo.

For the wiring test, it is excellent. Give clear indications of what wrong. The non contact voltmeter(NCV) is worthless. It has only gone off while plugged into the outlet. Still 5 stars though.

Good quality
