It comes with a water bottle holder that you push the neck of the bottle into. I only by cheap water bottles and found it difficult to fit with the cheaper plastic bottles as they keep crushing / folding when trying to attach. Maybe better with more expensive bottles of water or a stronger refillable bottle that has the right neck size. Great for taking on a walk and if you are taking water or food in your bag for your dog, then the reduced space of carrying a bowl is a bonus, not to mention not having to put a wet or used bowl inside your bag after using-
