This is perfect for anything from newborns to toddlers. It is super quiet, and it is 1. Much safer than nail clippers and 2. Probably even faster. This is specially good for toenails because it helps prevent you from cutting poorly, which could lead to I grown nails and infections. As far as safety goes, this has enough power to do an amazing job, but if you hit the finger too had it stops. My only regret is not getting this when my kid was born and having waited 2 yrs instead.

I’m still a little nervous about using it on baby, but I think it works pretty good. I’ve always hated cutting my babies finger nails because I’ve always been scared that I’m going to cut their skin. I figured I would give this a try, it is working but I’m still a little nervous about using it but I think I will keep trying and it will work out in the end.

My toddler wouldn’t let me near him with this, but my older child loved it. I used it on myself and am pleased with the results. Although it’s advertised as baby friendly and it comes with a specific tip, I would be concerned about their delicate skin. I accidentally slipped off my adult nail and although it didn’t harm my skin I felt it and immediately knew to pull away.

This unit comes with different trimming heads (for age appropriate) and level of speed that you can select from. Obviously you want to try it on yourself first with the slowest speed. Some babies might like it or some might be easier to use the traditional nail clipper (and faster that way when they are asleep). But this electric trimmer is indeed a good alternative to try.
