Greater than one weekMy PS4 is almost 5 years old now and Ive noticed that fan kicks off at full speed almost immediately. I decided to take things on my own. Followed a YouTube video for disassembly and exposed CPU. OEM thermal paste was not dried out completely but still not brand new. Removed it with isopropyl alcohol and applied a single drop in the middle. In the process Ive also replaced the thermal pads on all the memory chips (with arctic pads). I cannot say it is a day and night difference, however I definitely see some improvement. Fan does not kick off to full speed immediately, and once shutting down it transitions from the fan speed more gracefully. Definitely recommend this product if you are skilled enough to open your ps4
