> 24 hourI used this thermal paste on an eight year old laptop that was having thermal issues with the CPU. The CPU was running at a solid 210 degrees Celsius at idle due to the OEM thermal paste having ran dry and become crumbly. After taking apart the laptop, removing the old thermal paste, and applying a fresh coating of this product it now runs at a steady 110 degrees Celsius. It rarely rises above 140 degrees Celsius during light gaming such as Minecraft. The included spreading tool is useful for both application and removal of excess paste should it fill into a finer area. When not in use, the included sealing cap is a solid security measure and will not come off unless intentionally removed.

The biggest problem of a low-quality thermal paste is actually not the initial thermal performance, but the endurance. Specifically, they dry up quickly, deteriorating the performance. This is a serious problem because you absolutely do not want to clean up the thermal paste, reapply it, and reinstall the cooler. It is too much too much work, and also causes a loss of the peace of mind, that I wont do it for a hundred dollars.
