> 3 dayBought it 4 months ago to build my pc everything worked fine till last week when my pc died. Brought it to memory express for a diagnostic. The technicians found the cpu (Ryzen 9 5900x) to be defective. Im starting the warranty process for the part and will update the review on how well that goes. Update - warranty process was ok everything is over email. I had to pay international shipping to the states which was 100 dollars to send it back. They paid shipping to send me the new unit.

> 3 daycausing crashes out of the box. lots of troubleshooting. not what i wanted when i spent this amount of money on a CPU! (700+). AMD wants all sorts of documentation and wont exchange it without invoice, pictures of it installed in MOBO, troubleshooting steps taken blah blah blah i should charge them 130 dollars an hour for my work! definitely cost me more than what its worth in my time. Very Disappointed. Im thinking class action...

Greater than one weekAmazing CPU as everyone is probably aware by now. Have been using this daily for just over a year. Installed in a X570 Aorus Pro WiFi/32gb 3600 mild oc @ 3733mhz/xfx Merc 6800xt. Have this rig plugged into a 27 155hz monitor and an OLED tv with 4k/120hz. Will last me a long time as I dont think Ill need a reason to upgrade for a while. This rig is a central entertainment center - music/movies/YouTube/games/etc. It gets a lot of use everything from my electric guitar to an E50 dac/L50 amp stack, another wireless dac/amp for when Im in my favorite chair and using the PC with the TV but need to be quiet, blah blah. For home use I dont really see how anyone could need more power is the point Im trying to make. Crushes every benchmark. Plays all games Ive tried with no issues and its a different experience with 4k/120hz on the TV thru the receiver and 5.1 surround sound. Loads all applications quickly. Its a little touchy to get above 1800 infinity fabric, but still can depending on your choice of mobo/ram combination and maybe a little luck.

> 3 dayThe value & quality is amazing along with the speed. The only thing I don’t like about it is the BIOS update but that’s because of the MOBO I have & I made the mistake of not backing up data. Regardless, amazing CPU

27-10-2024So I went from AMD 2700x to 5900x and I am happy, not only did it solve my ram speed issue (not being able to utilize over 3200 mhz) but stability issues and long term dormant PC issues. Works for me! Love the new performance on this rig I had originally planned with a 3000 series... this is by far better overall..

> 3 dayDespite BIOS updates making things slowly better over time, this CPU is the cause of many WHEA errors. There is a temporary workaround, which is disabling rushed shiny new features such as Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) causing instability, but then why not buy a 3900X instead and be better off.
