For value the 5900x is a way better value, but as far as availability of stock. I have not seen a single 5900x in stock since launch. Gaming performance is better than my 3900x. I have had no thermal issues. Ive seen some people complain about warm temps but that is normal for ryzen. My case doesnt have the best airflow and Im using a corsair 280mm aio. My temperatures idle in the mid 30s (Celsius) and sometimes 40s if the day is hot. While Gaming its usually in the 60s.

In case you were an Intel using, CPU Temperature is higher for the Ryzen CPU. Idle @ ~ 40C could get up to ~85C at high load. But its totally fine for Ryzen CPU.

Although the cpu itself is intact and great, I just hate to see the outside box damaged

What is Amazon thinking? Yes the processor is great. I was afraid to open it at first because the box was pretty chewed up upon receiving it. They also seem to like to use proper cardboard boxes on $20 bottles of supplements. Why not use something like that for something 20x as valuable. Terrible shipping.

Happy with my choice , easy to install and good quality.

For me, Ryzen products seem very fussy with which components they do and dont want to work with. I spent about 7 years with AMD and these new Ryzen have made me switch to Intel.

Processor was damage in box.

Power ohne Ende. Man sollte nur schauen das man ihn auch kühlen kann. ;D
