AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

Runs too hot to function. I unfortunately do not have a liquid cooler and tried to use the stock cooler from my 3600x. Every game I try to play crashes. Ive tried undervolting it, running it in eco mode (which takes it down to 65w), using curve optimizer, and nothing works. I cannot play anything at all. It often cant even make it to an actual game and crashes in the menu. This is absolutely pathetic I and I now see why this is the only of the new gen 4 ryzen cpus that are reliably in stock - they dont work. Im seeing people with max sized radiators on their double pump cooling systems and it still reaches 90 degrees celsius. Completely dysfunctional product - do not buy.

I remembered last minute to update the BIOS (had the machine apart). After installing everything, this thing was maxing out at 86C, which I considered too hot, I have a Hyper 212 on it and expected mid to high 70s.

I paired this with an Asus X570 TUF motherboard, and there was no need to update the BIOS.

I dont remember last time I had to worry about compile time. No overclocking works amazing for my use case. Can have Docker + VSCode + Firefox + Elden Ring open and barely gets over 50C. Great processor.

Constant overheat problems proliferate forums. My processor had the same overheating issues. Fried in a little over a year. RMA filed. Well see how customer service is.

I have a strongly-overclocked 5900x in MY pc, and put this 5800x in the wifes, to replace a nice little 3400G.
