> 3 dayOne of the best monitor I’ve ever owned. Graphics are insane, brightness won’t hurt your eyes and the response time is on point.

13-11-2024Coming from the Alienware AW3418DW (An Ultrawide IPS)(VRR Enabled on both monitors) I was a little nervous with this purchase. That said I really really love this monitor. The colors look nicer than my previous monitor, and the speed is also better. I was mainly looking for the speed upgrade with this purchase and this monitor did deliver. Even when running games at 70-90 fps (below the highest refresh rate of both monitors) I could feel a difference in the response times. My new Acer being the dominant monitor of the two. I also felt that the colors looked better. The Acer monitor was more vibrant and looked better in darker scenes in games than my previous monitor did. I used the VRR (Freesync/gsync*) setting with my RTX 2080 and had no issues, even though at the times of this review this monitor is not gsync compatible. I have read on some forums, but to be honest have not done research myself, that this panel is the same as their similar predator model. The predator model is gsync compatible. This leads me to believe that this monitor could receive gsync certification in the future. The VRR performed amazingly in any game I through at it. EFT where I would get 60-140 fps depending on the local. COD where I was pushing 200 fps. Then CSGO where I could use all 270 HZ. All these games felt better than before. And to my delight, these games even looked better (color). Now since I have talked about looks I should mention that I have not looked at the HDR performance on this monitor because I believe even VESA HDR 600 isnt worth paying extra for. I have to say that I am happy with this monitor but I cant leave out the issue I have had. The issue is pictured above. I have not seen this issue in games and have only experienced these issues twice since I purchased the monitor. I am hoping this does stop but if not I will end up returning this monitor. I really dont want to do that because otherwise I really love this monitor. I will update this review below if needed.

> 3 dayFirst let me explain my use cases. I mainly use this monitor for coding (8+ hours per day) and few hours for either steaming or casual gaming. So I need a monitor that can provide clear text and some sort of eye protection to reduce eye strain. Most importantly, I can finally unleash my gpu power with a proper 4k monitor.

> 3 dayLuckily got this while it was 50% off and it was definitely worth it. Likely wouldve chosen something else if it had been full price though. A bit of light bleed because of the IPS but unless you are playing or watching something very dark, you wont notice. You definitely need to have it in HDR mode however or else the colours are very bland and washed out

> 3 dayGot this after trying out a cheap 144hz VA 1440p monitor with awful ghosting. The biggest plus on this monitor is definitely the IPS screen. Virtually no ghosting or artifacts, and bright with more saturated colors. The change from 144hz to 240hz isnt as big as 60hz to 144hz, but your eyes can still tell. I got my unit refurbished (probably a return), but had no defects and no cosmetic issues (that I can see).

> 3 dayWas looking for a 4k monitor with 144hz refresh rate. Works pretty good, though brightness could have been better.

> 3 dayGreat monitor for gaming. One thing to be careful of if using with a PS5. The new VRR setting can cause flickering in games and even on the PlayStation’s menus. Be sure to set this setting to off and you’ll be fine. The IPS design of the monitor is what causes the issues
