Works as you would expect. Very cute. To “activate” you need to remove plastic strip to connect battery. The strip is clear plastic and may not be obvious initially. They do provide instructions, but it could be more distinct for the card recipient.

this is mt second of this same card. first card worked perfectly but this one, once the black tab was pulled wouldnt stop playing happy birthday. i sent it anyway as i was late getting a card out but i hated i couldnt get it to play only when opened.

My 13 year old grandson totally thought his card was the coolest! Had the best happy Birthday tune, and the lights were bright. Just perfect!
