This item did exactly what I needed it to do. I connected this to the antenna port of an XV222 transverter to align the receiver for better noise figure. I did have a little trouble finding a suitable power connector, but found one that worked in a box of old wall warts that I have. I did not have a way to measure what the power output was. I did have to turn on the attenuator on the radio in order to make measurements and adjustments as the power was too high otherwise. The price was much better on this unit than others I found as well. 73

Intended to be used as a broadband signal to tune filters. Will make an easy addition to a tinySA spectrum analyzer pocket set-up - handy for checking stuff at flea markets.

I am very conformed and agree with the function of this device. I used to make homemade antennas. I just needed for having an idea of the frequency range and in which frequency has the lower SWR. The goal is to have low-cost devices, as a SDR dongle and a RF bridge with the noise source to see the response on the frequency of homemade design I made. But this time i made some prove at the telecom laboratory of my university using a Spectrum Analyzer and a bridge (form Anritsu). I definitely can confirm you can at least figure out how is the frequency response. Below some images. I made a test with a VHF/UHF pro antenna (the brand is MASPRO, Japanese) and another at 1.5 GHz. As you see at the photos till 1.5GHz is the high-acceptable frequency. I powered with 9V, and the temperature was ok. I worked continuously for around 2 hours.

This has a nice flat output spectrum. Only bad thing is it is quite voltage sensitive. That is, a change in supply voltage affects output level, so requires good regulated power supply.

The board does get hot, as mentioned above. Really only a problem if you want to put it in a plastic box. I mounted it in a shielded metal case, and temperature was not a problem.
