I had thought about making some thing like this out of pipe to hold certain size material. I came across this and it was easier than making. I mounded mine more permanently and has worked well so far.

I’ve used similar bits before but without the Mount. This thing is cool. From free-hand cutting to this, that’s a breeze. This seems well made though. Plenty of the pads with it to work with. I don’t do a lot of tile work so this should last me a lifetime. Glad I have this!

Great diamond hole saw kit. The setup was very easy. Clean both the bottom of the jig and the tile surface with rubbing alcohol to be sure there are no oily fingerprints. Attach the water-tight pad to the jig, then to the tile. Fill 1/3 with water. Drill your hole with a battery hand drill. The water doesnt splash out although when the hole cuts all the way through, the water leaks out the bottom of the tile. So be prepared for that. Not much water to worry about but just to be aware that it will happen. The jig easily removes leaving the water-tight pad on the tile. Carefully remove the pad from the tile. It wants to leave some adhesive residue behind so I use adhesive remover and a small amount of rubbing and it comes off fine. Results: A perfect hole right where you want it. No worry about the hole saw walking on the tile surface. Highly recommend.

This diamond hole saw cut through a concrete countertop with ease. The saw guide, which is secured to the countertop via adhesive, kept the hole saw from walking and did a good job containing the cooling water. Concrete is not the hardest material so this wasn’t exactly a challenging test. But given how well it cut, I speculate tackling denser material such as granite wouldn’t be a problem albeit much slower. I think having the water cooling makes a big difference. Good product overall.

This is an ingenious system for accurately positioning the diamond core bit and also provide water cooling. I wish I had thought of this system and patented it. Once I used silicone caulk to glue a short piece of PVC pipe to the top of a very expensive sink for just such a positioning and cooling system. This is a much better system than I had. I wish I had had this system a long time ago. I rarely, but still way too often for me, have to cut an extra hole in an expensive cast iron porcelain kitchen sink to install a treated filtered Drinking Water faucet. I explain, to the home owner, how difficult it is to cut through very hard and brittle porcelain and hard cast iron. I always tell the home owner that I WILL NOT be responsible for replacing the sink if I fail in my drilling effort. If they agree, I drill the hole, so far, so good. I drill the hole with diamond coated core bits with a helper continuously spraying the bit with water. The water keeps the bit cool and washes away the debris for a cleaner cut. Sometimes there is some chipping which I have to smooth out for fear of the chipping cracks spreading. It usually takes two of the cheaper quality diamond core bits to get the job done. I am delighted with this better quality heavy duty bit and I am going to use it on every porcelain hole from now on.

This product is comprised of a diamond core steel bit that fits a standard electric drill, a circular guide and water container, (to keep the bit cool while drilling) and a set of one dozen sticky pads that affix the guide to the surface to be drilled. The drill is designed to be used as a wet saw for drilling holes in tile, granite, ceramic, or stoneware. It works by attaching the guide to the tile or stone surface and filling it about 1/3 full with water. Place the drill bit into the water cup and proceed gently. Force isnt necessary. The bit actually makes surprisingly short work of the process. I drilled test holes in both porcelain tile and a piece of 1 thick granite...both with perfect results. Be sure to drill from the top side of the tile or stone as you might achieve very minimal blowout on the backside as you drill through. I cant yet address the issue of longevity for this bit, but with careful use, I expect it to provide a good bit of service. For the price, this is a bargain. I wish Id had it when drilling holes in my porcelain tile floor for plumbing runs! Ah, well...the house is a work in progress...LOL!

Everything kit provides is great, but it only works for one hole in 30 mins, I am doing wet grinding on granite countertop. The second home took 2 hours and 3rd one is still not done. I wish bought durable bit,

It cut through 1 1/2 granite like butter. Having the guide that hold water really made it simple to cut and keep it straight. Very happy how it worked.

As the owner of a handyman service with a significant focus on tile installations I use diamond hole saws a fair bit. When cutting a hole in a horizontal surface having the water cup/trough to continuously bath the cutter in cooling H2O is a nice bonus. Keeping the cutter cool is the key to longevity of these expensive diamond tools. Obviously, when working on a vertical surface water just runs out of the cup, actually impeding getting water onto the hot cutter, so I never use it when cutting on a vertical surface. In my experience this is a better than average cutter, at a better than average price and includes a useful accessory, so 5 stars from me.
